I think you should let the minimap come as a surprise to the player instead of taking away control at the very start of the level, and make the puzzles a bit more flexible.(If you make the wrong move, you're pretty much soft locked and have to restart the entire game.)
I don't like to just give out free rates. I will if I see some user friendly improvements, though!
Absolutely! Anything to help another dev.
Either way, I think it's pretty impressive that you could do that with gbstudio. I always found it pretty restricting, so I never could do a whole lot.
